2026-03-02
In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine creams have been popular among consumers who love traditional Chinese medicine for health preservation. In order to make the cream supplement and application more standardized and safe, the "2013 National Fifth Exchange Conference of Traditional Chinese Medicine Plasters and National Plaster Teacher Training Class" was held in Shanghai recently. More than 350 Chinese medicine practitioners from all over the country received training and exchange on prescription issuance and preparation process specification. The meeting was hosted by the Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and organized by the Preparatory Committee of the Plaster Branch of the Chinese Society of Medicine, Longhua Hospital affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Shandong Dong'e ass hide glue Co., Ltd.
With people's increasing emphasis on their own health, the demand for ointment formulas in the market is also growing. Multiple regions such as Beijing, Anhui, and Shandong have also launched ointment formula work, and the concept of ointment formula for preventing diseases is increasingly recognized by more and more people. Professor Zhou Duan, from Longhua Hospital affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said that traditional Chinese medicine paste originated from traditional Chinese medicine decoction, also known as "plaster", which belongs to one of the eight dosage forms of traditional Chinese medicine pills, powder, paste, pills, soup, wine, dew, and tablets. It is a semi fluid dosage form made by repeatedly decocting more than 30 Chinese medicine decoction pieces, removing the dregs, taking the juice, evaporating and concentrating them, adding sugar or honey, ass hide glue, etc.
The increasing popularity of ointment formulas has led to problems such as non-standard use and preparation of ointment formulas by some medical institutions and personnel. Li Junde, Vice President of the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, stated that the current level of prescribing doctors varies greatly, with inadequate training, one-sided pursuit of benefits, and disregard for the quality of ointment prescriptions. In response, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine issued a notice on strengthening the promotion and application management of ointment prescriptions in medical institutions, and published relevant regulations for guiding and standardizing the compatibility, production, processing, and consumption of ointment prescriptions. This traditional Chinese medicine ointment exchange conference also specially invited well-known ointment experts from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai to give practical application explanations on the entire process of ointment prescription, processing, and packaging. While continuing to expand the scale of ointment application, it promotes the continuous standardization of the industry.
